HI ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! MAY&FJ'S BACK Y'ALL! Sorry for the LOOOOOOOOOONG haitus, I kinda fell sick last week with crazy dengue-.- So I was absolutely bedridden with no energy or brain juice to write anything! But no worries, I am up and back in the pink of health now so here comes the new review for you peeps!

I chanced upon The Missing Pan whilst on my way to school, got excited cuz it looked pretty on the outside and hence I told dear May that this was one place to visit! Through a quick research we found out that The Missing Pan was opened only at late 2013, so it is a relatively new establishment!

The Missing Pan is a rather cool place with 2 floors and a mini internal elevator to take you up to the second floor! Cool or what. But mind you its really mini, it fits 2 people just fine, 3 is pushing it and 4 is just purely squeezzzzzzyyyyyyyy. It has a rather pretty interior too! Photos below tells it all!

Anyways, we ordered a Rosemary Rosti Stack ($16), a 62 Degrees Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon ($22) and a Cappuccino ($5.50). We paid about $50.90 in total. The menu is included here as follows!

Rosemary Rosti Stack:

  • They had roasted/bbq thin strips of cucumber for salad. It was heavenly! The cucumber was crunchy and nice. There was a dash of pepper on the salad that made the whole salad perfect.
  • The Rosti had HUGE amounts of bacon hidden in between it that provided the salty taste. But to be honest, the bacon was toasted/roasted to it's hardest! It was soooo hard! Quoting May: It's testing my chewing abilities.
  • The Rosti itself was done to perfection.
  • We have to say that the sunny side up was absolutely the ultz! Just look at it!

62 degrees Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon:
  • The Hollandaise Sauce looks kinda unique and tasted different from the usual. It goes very well with the smoked salmon.
  • The bread was hard as usual. It's the nature of Sourdough, so oh well.
  • They give you VERY GENEROUS amounts of smoked salmon!
  • The avocado spread was mild in taste. So for those non-avocado lovers, don't you worry!
  • The egg bens were really well done!
  • $22 may seem like a huge price to pay, but for the portion, it is rather worth it!

Cappuccino:
  • Mid-strong in taste,
  • Foam is strong and thick.
  • It does not have a weird after taste.

Overall, our experience at The Missing Pan was indeed awesome! They have really awesome bakes in there too! Gonna try them another time for sure! Do let us know about your trip to The Missing Pan if you've been there!

Love you all as always! Till next time!

(Only a photo of dear May this time because I looked horrid in the other photos)

FLOCK CAFE @ TIONG BAHRU

Location: 78 Moh Guan Terrace #01-25 Tiong Bahru Estate Singapore 162078
How to get there: Take MRT to Tiong Bahru, turn left towards the bus stop after you leave Tiong Bahru Mall, do not cross the road until you see the three story short houses, walk down and Flock's there!
Opening hours:
Daily: 0800am - 1800pm
Contact: 6536 3938

Hello!!!!!!!! TGIF everyboday! I bet you all are thankful that the weekends are coming! I spent the whole of today being Cinderella, sweeping the house, cleaning the windows and toilets with my bro. If this does not sound tiring enough, the both of us decided to head out to play some badminton. However the courts were fully booked. So we decided to head up to the gym and work out. Boy it was a crazy 1.5 hour workout, but I gotta say it was good!

Anyway back to the topic of food, May&FJ recently head out to FLOCK. We've bypassed it many times and have seen many bloggers talking about it. So we decided to give it a go.

Flock is a rather little cafe that has a rather nice interior decor. However, the tables, especially those at the far end are rather cramped to the fact that conversations 2 tables away from yours could be heard. (Times like these just makes me wanna join that conversation. It's like hello, since we're here too, might as well! What about that idiot ex-boyfriend you were talking about just half a minute ago?) Because of that, May and I decided that it was better to take the seats that were nearer to the door, you get a more personal space and privacy.

We ordered a Scrambled Eggs & Croissant with Smoked Salmon  ($14.90), a Prawn Aglio Olio ($14.50), a Latte ($5.50) and a Cappuccino ($5.50). The bill totaled to $40.40. We have included the menu here too!

Scrambled Eggs & Croissant With Smoked Salmon:

  • May said that scrambled eggs were recommended by many.
  • The scrambled eggs were well done. It wasn't too firm or too watery. It's texture was very consistent!
  • Quoting May: A Croissant can determine whether the rest of the bakes and food are worth trying in a French restaurant. While this ain't a French restaurant, we're still gonna give you a review on the croissant the "French defined" way. The croissant was not light or fluffy enough, it was also slightly hard; however it has a nice butter aroma.
  • The combination of the croissant, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was good!!
  • The salad was a little disappointing for we picked bits of lettuce was browned ends.

Prawn Aglio Olio:
  • 5 prawns included which were fresh and Q. We loved it.
  • The spicy taste came from both the chili padi and the black pepper. (Surprisingly, mostly from the black pepper) It was too spicy!
  • We both felt that there was an excessive amount of black pepper and hence it doesn't taste like Aglio Olio.
  • It was also quite oily.
  • D' Good's was sooooooooooooo much better

Latte & Cappuccino:
  • Both tasted fine. I felt that the cappuccino was light though (maybe the Aglio Olio turned my taste buds haywire)
  • However, we felt that the foam was not well done. After 15 mins, we saw huge holes in the foam and it looked rather disgusting and disturbing for the both of us. (I decided to stir my coffee instead of keeping the coffee art)
 (Cappuccino)
(Latte)

Overall, we feel that it's the All Day Breakfast is worth a try over here. As for their Pastas, maybe not. And the coffee, if you don't really mind the looks of it after 15 mins, it's definitely okay to try. However May&FJ were rather disappointed with our food there. The both of us were wondering why so, even when other reviews on it were not thaaat bad. In the end we concluded such disappointment was due to our expectations. Sadly, we felt that we had too high an expectation. So it's always better to enter without expectations! Saves you from feeling disappointed!

Alrights, that's all about FLOCK from us! Do share with us your experiences in FLOCK! We'd love to hear from you all :) Till the next post lovelies!

Hello! May&FJ are back with our food review today! Our friends and us decided to head out one day to Sunset Way for a food excursion, however we went at a timing where many restaurants and cafes turned us down due to external events or resting period. After feeling sorry for ourselves and hungry, May suggested Choupinette where we heard about good all day's breakfast! So we chugged ourselves down there at that odd hour to grab some lunch! After all that walking and stuffs, you bet we were hungry!

Choupinette is a  tiny little French restaurant that is situated at the corner. They have these set lunches that looks rather worth it, but we were after the all day breakfast, so we decided to skip that. We ordered an Eggs Royale set ($23), a Tristen Set ($21), and a Le Geo-Burger ($20). The bill totaled to about $74.90, since there are 4 of us, we each paid about $18.70. We have included their menu here.

Eggs Royale Set:

  • Comes with one cold drink and one hot drink.
  • The bread is crispy.
  • They give you a generous portion of smoked salmon.
  • The Hollandaise sauce was not too creamy.
  • The eggs were poached to a good extent, so we were contented customers!

Tristen Set:
  • Comes with one cold drink and one hot drink too.
  • To be honest, at first look, the food looks kinda pathetic. The plate was too big and the food was too tiny. It made us feel that this seemed like a meal not worth the money paid for.
  • Coming back to the good side of this dish, the Saute Mushrooms were very flavorful. (They could have given more of it! D' Good gave so much more at a cheaper price!)
  • The eggs were well poached.
  • The baked tomato was good.

Le Geo-Burger:

  • We requested for the patty to be "well done" but it was not well done at all -.- It was all too too hard for everyone.
  • The fries comes in a huge ass amount that fed 4 people to their satisfaction.
  • The salad has this slight sourish sauce that tasted good.

Note:
  • They have timings for the Brunch Menu
  • Lunch sets are served till 7pm.
  • They are not opened on Mondays.
 (Hot Chocolate)
 (Chamomile Tea)
(Apple Juice and Orange Juice)

Overall, we feel that the All day breakfast sets are worth the ordering, as for the meals, maybe not? But $18.70/ person for food and drinks to feed 4 people would seem rather worth it!

That's all for now! We'll come back with more food reviews for you all! Thank you for keeping a look out on our space! Do keep that love going! We love you all <3

(We're so cute ^^ Friends are hidden gems )
