Hihihihihihi!!!! In a blink of an eye, a new week is about to end. How's the week been for you all? Mine consists of completing assignments, joining a CCA and just purely relaxing for the rest of the available time. Plus, I had my regular yoga classes today which was absolutely refreshing for the body and soul! Yoga is really something you all should try out!

Anyways, a couple of my friends and I decided to head down to Lola's Cafe for dinner after my yoga class today. It was my first time hearing about Lola's Cafe and upon a quick research I found out that it was a quaint little cafe that had just been open recently! Several bloggers have caught on it's scent and blogged about it and here I am, telling you my experience at this awesome cafe.

We ordered a Summer Swimmer Crab Spaghetti ($15), a Slow Braised Pork Goulash ($13), a Honey and Paprika Crispy Wings ($9), a Lemon Meringue Tart ($4) and a Caramelized Banana Earl Grey Tart with Pistachio Topping ($4). Our billed totaled to $45. It was $15 per person! (Very cheap considering the number of things we've ordered. We were very full customers when we walked out). I have included their menu here as well for your reference!

Summer Swimmer Crab Spaghetti:

  • The sauce was tangy and slightly creamy. It is not spicy at all. It is very appetizing
  • The texture of the spaghetti was good and the portion of the whole dish was very reasonable.
  • The dish was filled with ingredients! Every spoonful had crab bits and chunky onions in it!
  • I love the fact that they added the Rockets on it, absolutely lovely. (But Phyllis didn't really like em'. It's a preference problem.)
  • I would say this dish is a must try!

Slow Braised Pork Goulash:

  • It had this unique taste to it which we thought could be due to the Paprika. This taste is acquired. For me I love this soup so much, but for dear Phyllis, the Paprika taste was too strong for her.
  • The pork was soooooooooooooooo tender and it had fully absorbed the essence of the soup itself. Simply marvelous!
  • Being a vegetable lover, I am gonna list down the vegetables available: Celery, carrots, and red and green paprika.
  • It also came with four crispy slices of baguette.

Honey and Paprika Crispy Wings:
  • These lovely crispy wings are a MUST to try! It's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Lovely!
  • It's sweet and slightly salty, there was a tinge of spiciness, just a teeny little bit.
  • However, the honey wasn't evenly distributed.
  • There are 8 pieces in total: 4 wings and 4 drumlets.

Lemon Meringue Tart:
  • This was by far one of the best Lemon Meringue Tart I have tried.
  • The lemon filling wasn't too sour and the top egg white cream wasn't toooooo sweet. As the tastes did not come it two extremes, it fits really well as a dessert to end your meal.
  • The tart was soft, not too hard.

Caramelized Banana Earl Grey Tart with Pistachio Topping:
  • The Earl Grey filling was light and the caramelized banana complimented it so well.
  • The pistachio topping was good.
  • The tart for this was harder than the Lemon Meringue.
  • I would definitely recommend this to people who wanna try something new. This is something that would definitely interest you.

Advantages:
  • NO service charge and GST payable.
  • The food's great!
Disadvantages:
  • There is a space constraint, so it is definitely recommended that you make a reservation in advance before you head down.
My experience at Lola's Cafe was really good and I would definitely wanna go back and try their Brunch! This is a place that I would definitely recommend you all to go for quality food at affordable prices! Have you been to Lola's Cafe? Share your experiences with us! Comment or email, we'd love to hear from you all! Till next time you all!
