Helloooooo! How's Valentine's day yesterday? May&FJ spent the afternoon covering Ramen Keisuke^^

I was introduced to Ramen Keisuke about a week ago by a friend of mine and I absolutely fell in love with this place after that. It's a Japanese Restaurant that serves you ramen only (they do have a couple of fried rice as side dishes as well), and you get to customize it according to your taste preferences.

Plus, they provide free hard boiled eggs and seasoned beansprouts for customers. They also provide you sesame seed to be grinded before putting it into the soup. (HonestlyI had a lot of fun playing with that last week when I was there.)

May decided on the Summer Ramen with all additional toppings ($13.90 + $4) and I settled for the Autumn Ramen ($12.90). We paid a total of: $36.25. Here's the menu for you peeps to take a look^^

Summer Ramen + all toppings:
  • All toppings consists of: Flavoured Egg, a huuuuge piece of seaweed, and Stir Fried Pork.
  • Taste of soup and noodle texture was set at normal. Chicken oil was set as less oil.
  • The molten egg was LOVEEE~
  • Seaweed was a huge piece. It's worth it and value for money!
  • There was a generous portion of stir fried pork. It was well seasoned and goes well with the spicy minced pork in the ramen.
  • The ramen itself comes in a spicy soup base, two large pieces of char siew, two pieces of black fungus and spicy minced meat.
  • The noodle texture was Q enough.
  • The black fungus was crunchy.
  • Spicy minced pork was a unique twist compared to the usual minced pork.
  • Dear Maymay suggests that you can order this combination if you're a HUGE eater.

Autumn Ramen:
  • Taste of soup and noodle texture was set at normal. Chicken oil was set as less oil.
  • The ramen itself comes in a nice flavory soup base, two large pieces of char siew, two pieces of black fungus, minced meat and mushrooms.
  • The minced meat and mushrooms brings out the flavor of the soup.
  • The char siew was well seasoned. You can taste the herbal taste at every bite which I absolutely love!
  • Ramen texture was Q.
  • The portion size was rather huge for me. I was sooooooo full, you have no idea just how full I was.

Overall, May&FJ feels that the ramen here is worth you dollars. It's a definite must try! We really love their stuffs here. That's all for today's review lovelies^^

(Here's a picture of the girl who gave me a lovely sunflower^^)

Happy Valentine's day to all^^ (to those who celebrated yesterday and to those who are celebrating today!) For the ladies, may you receive a nice bouquet of flowers. For the men, may you receive the love you have been dying to get!

Till next time ^^

HELLO :) How's the week been for you lovely people? I just came back from an impromtu trip to Sentosa and boy was it hot! Rode the skyride and the ludge. It was pretty fun ^^ hahahas, this week has been well spent!

May&FJ visited the Habitat Coffee awhile back to celebrate Joey's birthday^^ We thought we'd share a little about Habitat Coffee with you peeps for we absolutely love this darling little cafe.

We bought 2 Take Shitake Pasta ($12/each), 4 Cheesynara Pasta ($16/each), 1 Something Fishy Pasta ($14), 1 Ocean Linguine ($16), 1 Cappuccino Regular ($4.90), 1 Truffle fries ($8), 1 House-made Churros ($9), 1 Tiramisu and 1 Black Velvet Cake. I think we can safely say that the 8 us spent close to $150 that day.We have included the menu below, prices of cakes are not included.

Take Shitake Pasta:
  • They give you very generous amounts of juicy mushrooms.
  • The mushrooms were very well cooked and tasted great.
  • Black pepper was added into the pasta to give it more flavour.
  • Amount of olive oil included was reasonable.
  • This is one that I would personally recommend.

Cheesynara Pasta:
  • There was generous servings of cheese sausages. The sausages were oozing with melted cheesy goodness.
  • Bacon included in the pasta was not too salty.
  • The cream sauce won't make you feel soooo sick of it after eating a couple of mouthfuls.
  • Portion of dish was sufficient.

Something Fishy Pasta:
  • It is essentially tuna pasta.
  • The black pepper gave extra flavour to the pasta.
  • Overall not a bad dish, but we felt it's a dish that can be easily made without much of a hassle at home. $14 is a tat too expensive for it.

Ocean Linguine:
  • Comes with 5 fresh looking prawns and 2 mussels.
  • My friend only had one thing to say about this: "Not filling enough for me leh."

Truffle Fries:
  • Many of my friends could not appreciate the "gas taste" of the truffle oil.
  • Personally, it was okay and very yummy^^
  • The portion was reasonable for $8 paid.

Home-made Churros:
  • Nicely made.
  • Tastes even better with the chocolate sauce.

Tiramisu:
  • Liquor blended really well with the tiramisu.
  • Could not really taste the cheese.
  • Portion wise: reasonable.

Black Velvet Cake:
  • The name itself sounded really unique.
  • It's just coffee cake with cream cheese.
  • The cake it spongy. I like it's texture.

Cappuccino:
  • Pretty coffee art.
  • Does not have the acidic after coffee taste as said by Maymay.
  • Medium bodied.

Overall Advantages:
  • No service charge or GST.
  • The food prices are reasonable!
Overall Disadvantages:
  • The place is rather tiny so do make your reservations before hand. (I called 4 days in advance to make mine for it's for a big group)
Note:
  • They are close on Mondays.
  • Brunch for weekdays end at 1730pm. (That's why we have not gotten the chance to try it.)
Habitat Coffee is a really awesome place. It's rather inaccessible though; but we'd do anything for good food^^ Have you peoples visited Habitat Coffee? Let us know your views too alrights!

(The whole bunch of us^^)
Till next time!

***Update on: 16/06/2014

Hello! Habitat Coffee has been my recent hangout these two weeks. Thought I'd update you peepos on the stuffs I have tried there!

Firstly: Changes to the menu, they do not have Waffles Sunrise anymore.

I had The Shrooms ($12):

  • Consists of: two poached eggs, large portion of sauteed mushrooms, two slices of Brioche and Salad.
  • The eggs were well done!
  • The sauteed mushrooms was the ultz! You should give anything mushroom at Habitat Coffee a go!

Apple Cinnamon Pancakes ($10):
  • Consists of: three thick fluffy pancakes, caramelized apples and raisins, and slices of raw apples.
  • The pancakes were fluffy and nice. It is rather filling although the portion looks otherwise.
  • The portion of caramelized apples and raisins was good! And every bite tasted like heaven!
  • This is something I would definitely try again when I am back!

I also had their flavoured coffee: Iced Macadamia Coffee ($6.90). They really have good coffee! Its something you peeps have to try when you are there!
