HAPPY BELATED PHYLLIS LOW! It's damn bloody late but its the thought that counts right!!! HAHAHAHAS!! Anyways during that day, May&FJ headed down to Brotzeit with Joey and Phyllis's boyfriend to surprise her. It's a 2 storey German Restaurant and Bar place that is infused with modern art and furniture.

We had their ever famous Pork Knuckle, their Sausage Platter and a Seafood Salad, Phyllis's boyfriend ordered a Schwarzer and the bill totaled  to about $113.40. Here is their food menu and their beverages menu.

Pork Knuckle:

  • Cripsy hind of pork served with potato salad, sauerkraut (Sour Cabbage) and homemade sauce on the side makes the dish look awesomely good!!!!
  • However, while some may say that the skin of the pork knuckle was fried till crispy, May&FJ found it tooooo hard for our liking~
  • The sauce was not that bad. The Sauerkraut has an acquired taste, apparently FJ's the only person in the group that had taken a liking for it. (FJ had an acquired taste bud ^^)
  • The meat was tender and as the Pork Knuckle was huge, there were loads of meat to be discovered if you dig enough. It also contained a HUGE amount of fats~so for fat lovers, here's something you should be trying!

Sausage Platter:
  • It came with different sauces: Chili, Garlic, Mustard and so forth.
  • There were various types of sausages from: spicy chicken sausages, Nürnberger sausages, pork cheese sausages, Weisswurst to garlic pork sausage.
  • Sausages were juicy. May said this was one platter to look forward too as other reviews described it as a must try, and we've gotta say we weren't disappointed.

Seafood Salad:
  • It came with vegetables, smoked salmon, seared tuna, prawns, semi-dried tomatoes, olives, grilled zucchini, orange wedges and sour cream tossed with house dressing.
  • We would say this is a salad worth spending your money on.
  • The seared tuna wasn't bloody, on contrary it was rather tasty! So for those who find the bloody taste of the tuna irksome  you need not worry about it for this case.
  • The portion was rather big, 5 people and we just managed to finish it.

Overall Advantages:
  • The atmosphere was rather relaxing and the serving staffs were rather nice.
  • It is not a must to order their drinks much to our relief. (We weren't in a drinking mood)
  • Food came reasonably quick

Overall Disadvantages:
  • We wouldn't say that the food here is cheap in a normal everyday price sense. But since we split the bill, it was rather reasonable.

After that we decided to play hide and seek with Phyllis by literally ditching her at the toilet and headed to Orchard Central to get her birthday cake. We texted her clues to the Cold Stone there by M1 seemed to have connection problems which resulted in her not being able to receive her messages right away. So we had a slightly agitated birthday girl :( Mannnn~if only the messages were sent on time!!! But we had a happy ending where the boyfriend runs out to find her and brought her back to see her ice cream birthday cake that did not contain any Vanilla. It was red velvet cake with strawberry ice cream!!! It was yumz! (If we weren't that full it would have been better!!)

Happy Birthday girl! We hoped you really enjoyed that day and your new bag!!! Love you to bits as always!! There is a Taiwan post coming up! So do keep a look out! Love you all!! We thank you peeps for constantly looking out on this space~We really can't express how thankful and happy we are but we REALLY appreciate it!!! So till the next post, SEE YOU!!!!
