Hello from Seoul! I'm doing a one month exchange in Seoul and so far, 16 days have passed. Seoul has been rather lovely with an exception of it's really hot afternoons and evenings. There is absolutely soooo much to see and not to miss out; EAT!
I shall touch on Seoul more when I have fully enjoyed my month here:) I plan to share more next time!
Coming back to Prive Cafe! It's a charming place with such a great view of yachts and nice dark blue water. (That's if you like yachts and dark blue water) Came here before I flew to Seoul with H^^
I have included the website for you to view the menu, feel free to explore!
We had: Ultimate Breakkie ($20), a Bad Ass BBQ Burger ($26) and a Fruit Tart ($7.90). I think we paid a total of $55.30 for two persons.
Ultimate Breakkie:
- You can choose the kind of eggs you want and naturally, we had poached eggs. The eggs were well done.
- Portion of bacon was huge.
- Sauteed mushrooms were slightly dry. Overall, it tastes fine. Would prefer a bigger portion of it though.
- Salad portion was reasonable.
- Rosti was well cooked. It had this unique taste to it. Not sure if it was the kinda oil that they used to cook it or the potato they used. But it's unique.
- The frankfruter was good, juicy and slightly peppery. It was rather hard to cut it though.
- Personally, D'good still has the best English Breakfast and it's price is much reasonable than Prive Cafe.
(Look at the lovely poached egg^^)
Ass BBQ Burger:
- The wagyu beef was juicy. WE had ours medium done and it was just nice. The meat was not tough and it was definitely easier to digest.
- BBQ sauce accompanying the burger is appetizing.
- They had fish flakes in the burger too!
- Overall, it's a burger to order!
Fruit Tart:
- I got it cuz it looked pretty on the display counter. (Guilty for liking pretty looking things)
- The strawberry was VERY sour. But the rest of the fruits tasted just fine ^^
- We split the tart into two and it was a good choice for we were both full by the time we finished our halves.
- The tart isn't an empty tart with custard. Rather it had a cake like filling inside. Something different from other fruit tarts I have eaten. I always like something new in my usual noms, so this was nice.
(The half i ate)
Have you been to Prive Cafe? Let us hear your views too! I remember the Prive Grill does have set meals for lunch on the weekdays and they looked rather affordable for a three course meal.
Do note that they only take reservations for 6 people or more on weekends for brunch hours. (We waited for like half an hour in the hot and humid weather as we wanted an air-conditioned seat.)
Before I end this post, I would like to introduce y'all to a musical in Korea: Grease!
It has been running in Korea for about 10 years and I can honestly say, this is better than Singing in the Rain (which is currently sizzling hot with it's famous cast members) for I have watched it as well.
I would say that the cast in Grease sings everything live compared to the cast in Singing in the Rain, and the plot for Grease allows each character to have their solo moments, compared to Singing in the Rain which targets only a few casts. The overall set and lighting changes for both musicals were rather good
The stage for Grease was so much smaller than Singing in the Rain. But you do not need a big stage for a good production. I like the space utilization and creating two floors on the stage allows more visual variation which allows people seating far back to enjoy the show.
Language may be a barrier, however, music isn't!
So do catch Grease if you're in Seoul! It's one musical you should NEVER miss!! You can book tickets this website.
Till the next review!
