Hello!!!!!!!! TGIF everyboday! I bet you all are thankful that the weekends are coming! I spent the whole of today being Cinderella, sweeping the house, cleaning the windows and toilets with my bro. If this does not sound tiring enough, the both of us decided to head out to play some badminton. However the courts were fully booked. So we decided to head up to the gym and work out. Boy it was a crazy 1.5 hour workout, but I gotta say it was good!

Anyway back to the topic of food, May&FJ recently head out to FLOCK. We've bypassed it many times and have seen many bloggers talking about it. So we decided to give it a go.

Flock is a rather little cafe that has a rather nice interior decor. However, the tables, especially those at the far end are rather cramped to the fact that conversations 2 tables away from yours could be heard. (Times like these just makes me wanna join that conversation. It's like hello, since we're here too, might as well! What about that idiot ex-boyfriend you were talking about just half a minute ago?) Because of that, May and I decided that it was better to take the seats that were nearer to the door, you get a more personal space and privacy.

We ordered a Scrambled Eggs & Croissant with Smoked Salmon  ($14.90), a Prawn Aglio Olio ($14.50), a Latte ($5.50) and a Cappuccino ($5.50). The bill totaled to $40.40. We have included the menu here too!

Scrambled Eggs & Croissant With Smoked Salmon:

  • May said that scrambled eggs were recommended by many.
  • The scrambled eggs were well done. It wasn't too firm or too watery. It's texture was very consistent!
  • Quoting May: A Croissant can determine whether the rest of the bakes and food are worth trying in a French restaurant. While this ain't a French restaurant, we're still gonna give you a review on the croissant the "French defined" way. The croissant was not light or fluffy enough, it was also slightly hard; however it has a nice butter aroma.
  • The combination of the croissant, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was good!!
  • The salad was a little disappointing for we picked bits of lettuce was browned ends.

Prawn Aglio Olio:
  • 5 prawns included which were fresh and Q. We loved it.
  • The spicy taste came from both the chili padi and the black pepper. (Surprisingly, mostly from the black pepper) It was too spicy!
  • We both felt that there was an excessive amount of black pepper and hence it doesn't taste like Aglio Olio.
  • It was also quite oily.
  • D' Good's was sooooooooooooo much better

Latte & Cappuccino:
  • Both tasted fine. I felt that the cappuccino was light though (maybe the Aglio Olio turned my taste buds haywire)
  • However, we felt that the foam was not well done. After 15 mins, we saw huge holes in the foam and it looked rather disgusting and disturbing for the both of us. (I decided to stir my coffee instead of keeping the coffee art)
 (Cappuccino)
(Latte)

Overall, we feel that it's the All Day Breakfast is worth a try over here. As for their Pastas, maybe not. And the coffee, if you don't really mind the looks of it after 15 mins, it's definitely okay to try. However May&FJ were rather disappointed with our food there. The both of us were wondering why so, even when other reviews on it were not thaaat bad. In the end we concluded such disappointment was due to our expectations. Sadly, we felt that we had too high an expectation. So it's always better to enter without expectations! Saves you from feeling disappointed!

Alrights, that's all about FLOCK from us! Do share with us your experiences in FLOCK! We'd love to hear from you all :) Till the next post lovelies!

<3 MAY&FJ
